The epicenter is reported at 50 miles (80 km) south of Puebla, 45 miles (75 km) northwest of Huajuapan de Leon, Oaxaca, Mexico, 50 miles (80 km) south of Puebla, Puebla, Mexico, 55 miles (90 km) west of Tehuacan, Puebla, Mexico and 95 miles (150 km) southeast of Mexico City, Mexico. The U.S Geological Survey (USGS) estimates the depth of the tremblor to be 34.8 miles (56 km), which is considered a fairly shallow earthquake. See USGS details here.
